Ages 18-24 are considered the peak years for onset and intensification of the most common mental health problems among youth - including alcohol abuse.
A 150-pound man would have to drink approximately 18 beverage units (one unit consists of 5 oz. of wine or one and a half ounces of spirits) in about a hour in order to reach the lethal blood alcohol concentration which is approximately 0.4%.
Substance abuse treatment is a much better alternative than incarceration; a high percentage of long term alcoholics may eventually have problems with law enforcement.
Caffeinated alcoholic beverages are premixed beverages that combine alcohol, caffeine, and other types of stimulants. They may be malt- or distilled spirits-based and usually will have higher alcohol content than a regular beer.
